COMPOTOOL Release

COMPOTOOL CTR404 Release is used in combination with COMPOTOOL Sealer System to prepare the surface of COMPOTOOL High Performance Tooling Boards. 

COMPOTOOL CTR404 Release is an advanced polymeric resin in a non-chlorinated organic solvent blend. 

COMPOTOOL CTR404 Release is applied by a wipe-on technique, requiring no rubbing or polishing forming a durable surface giving no transfer to the released surface.

Storage:

Store in a flammables store, shelf life is 12 months. The polymeric resin used in COMPOTOOL CTR404 Release reacts with moisture. Reseal container immediately after use. Do not mix with other products or solvents.

Application:

1. Apply COMPOTOOL Release with a clean, dry cotton cloth. 
2. Wipe wet cloth over mould surface covering an area of approximately 0.5 -1m2 (5-10ft2). Vigorous rubbing or polishing is not required. 
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 over the surface frequently reapplying release to the cloth overlapping previous areas to ensure complete coverage. Continue until surface is completely coated. Allow 10 minutes for the film to cure. 
4. Repeat Steps 1-4 above for a further 2 coats (3 in total). 
5. Allow final film to cure for at least 20 minutes at room temperature before moulding. Allowing a longer cure or heat curing (e.g. 10 minutes at 60ºC [150ºF]) will improve film durability.

NOTES:

1. COMPOTOOL Release should be applied in a well-ventilated area. The surface must be clean and dry before application.
2. COMPOTOOL Release is sensitive to variations in application technique. It is important that the user determines how many coats are required. Mould configuration, room temperature and humidity will influence cure time and COMPOTOOL Release may require longer cure periods than detailed above. 
3. COMPOTOOL Release must be used in conjunction with COMPOTOOL Sealer.
